PRIORITY FAIL
What is a Label 228? And, Why is this important?
Label 228 is the postal label used by the USPS for the packages. The USPS keeps it fresh and switches up designs every few years. The 2016 design is the base model for this project since it is the label that is currently being used at the Post Office. It also offers a nice size canvas to work with.
These stickers are widely used in the graffiti and street art community. They are free from the post office which explains why they are so popular. We like free stickers to spread throughout the streets!
There are various “Bluetop” designs dating back to the 1990’s, which are highly sought after due to their rare status being out of print for so long. It’s also just a cool design layout.
Collaborations with other artists will be released a little later down the line. I have a lot of very talented friends in the art game, this series is going to be fun! Expect some sweet collabs
Some Basic Information
Whoooo is Nite Owl?
Nite Owl is an Oakland, California based artist whose expressive Owls explore colors and geometries and enter into the realm of “flatness.” A prolific artist whose signature owls jump off the canvas and engage the viewer. Whether a trail of stickers in the streets, large murals painted on walls or smaller works in galleries, Nite Owl’s works transfer the artist's energy and intensity to the canvas. In addition to the San Francisco Bay Area, Nite Owl maintains an active presence painting walls and spreading owl stickers throughout the streets of New York City, Paris and Tokyo.
What is the Priority Fail Project ?
A series of 1/1 NFT’s which are backed by a physical hand drawn sticker. The stickers are a burst of color and are created by hand using pencil, prismacolor, ink and acrylic. Each sticker is a unique work of art from Nite Owl.
Where can I find the Priority Fail Project?
This collection will exist on the Ethereum Blockchain. Initially they will be listed on Opensea, but they are created on my personal Nite Owl contract with Manifold so you can relist them on any marketplace. In the future I may list them on Looks Rare, but for now it is Opensea.
When release?
The first batch of 15 nft’s were released into the Opensea on Friday, May 6. Batch 2 is coming soon!!
Do I have IP Rights to the NFT ?
Sorry, but this is a hard NO. Feel free to use your files for personal display purposes, but you may not reproduce my artwork to make a profit of any kind. This includes licensing, retail sales, tshirts, stickers, prints, promotions for a third party, etc. If you have an opportunity presented to you, let’s talk. Maybe we can partner up on it, but I do not want my artwork out there representing someone else’s brand. My artwork is my heart and soul, it is the reason I wake up and conquer the day. Don’t fuck with it. Like I said, this is a hard NO.
Thanks for your interest in my project.
